September 8, 2008 This Week on NECW TV: Kowalski Tribute, Siks Injury, Ariel-Lexxus & more!
We kick off this week's action with a look at the injury suffered by "The Human Nightmare" Evan Siks at the hands of The Crown Jewels at BIRTHDAY BASH 8. We will also have post match comments from Darling Damon and Jason Rumble. Our TV main event this week is a special World Women's Wrestling non-title feature match. World Women's Wrestling Champion, "The Portuguese Princess" Ariel takes on former champion Lexxus in a match with some unique stipulations. This week's show looks back at one of wrestling's most important an influential figures, Gorgeous George. We will be hearing from John Capouya, author of the new book "Gorgeous George: The Outrageous Bad-Boy Wrestler Who Created American Pop Culture." You'll hear about some of the surprising figures Gorgeous George influenced and more about this largely forgotten icon of pro wrestling. The main event is now official. NECW Triple Crown Champion, “The Mohawked Enforcer” Max Bauer will be defending the championship against DC Dillinger. In last month’s triple threat match for the Triple Crown at BIRTHDAY BASH 8, it was Bauer pinning Dillinger for the victory, but the referee did not see that Dillinger’s foot was outside the ropes, which would have broken up the pin attempt and restarted the match. The championship committee is reviewed the tapes and granted Dillinger the rematch. However, NECW President, Sheldon Goldberg has assigned a special guest referee to the match to assure that Dillinger and his manager, Sean Gorman will be kept in line. 2008 IRON 8 Champion, "The Golden Greek" Alex Arion will don the stripes and be the third man in the ring for this championship battle. A host of other matches have been announced
for this event, including two other championship bouts: The new NECW Tag Team Champions, PRIDE (Dan
Freitas & Brian Nunes) defend their titles in a special triple threat tag
team championship match against Team Nightmare (“The Human Nightmare” Evan
Siks & “Nightmare” Nick Steel) and the most controversial team in NECW,
The Crown Jewels (Darling Damon & Jason Rumble) managed by Brian Cairo. Nothing has been settled in the feud between
NECW Television Champion, Handsome Johnny and former champion, “The Real
Deal” Brandon Locke. Last month, Locke and Johnny once again went to the
time limit without a decision. This time, the championship committee has
announced that there will be a 20 minute time limit, as these two collide again
with the belt on the line. Also on tap will be a special World
Women’s Wrestling International Tag Team Challenge Match. The current World
Women’s Wrestling Champion, “The Portuguese Princess” Ariel teams with
Madison who hails from Also signed in a special challenge match,
former PWF Heavyweight Champion, Jason Blade collides with “The Natural”
Scott Osbourne. Osbourne has been on a huge winning streak of late, as
well as turning in a stellar performance in this year’s IRON 8 Championship.
Blade is looking to re-establish his star in NECW and to stop Osbourne’s
streak cold. Also
at AUTUMN UNLEASHED, former NECW Television Champion, “The Talent” T.J.
Richter squares off against the masked man from the Orient, Makoto. Plus, the
self-proclaimed “Future Superstar” Ryan Matthews battles Australian star
Ryan Eagles in another international challenge match. In
addition to all this, we will have a live Pat’s Pit segment and more. Advance tickets can be

In the opening contest, a
special extended 15-minute time limit Television Championship match, NECW
Television Champion, Handsome Johnny with An eventful Pat’s Pit
followed. Pat Piper’s guest was Brian Cairo with “The Natural” Scott
Osbourne. In a match for the NECW Tag
Team Championship, new champions PRIDE faced off with former champ “Rocket”
Fred Curry Jr. and his mystery partner. All signs pointed that partner being
Fred’s father 60’s and 70’s star “Flyin” Fred Curry Sr. As the Currys
prepared to enter the ring, Fred Sr. pointed back to the entranceway and out
came former NECW Heavyweight Champion, Michael Sain. Curry and Sain got the DQ
win when Dan Freitas pushed referee Rich Bass into the ropes leading to “The
Rocket” crotching himself on the top turnbuckle. Post match, the Currys got a
taste of revenge as father and son battered the tag team champions much to the
crowd’s delight. In a match-up between two
rising stars in NECW, “The Natural” Scott Osbourne handed Asian standout
Makoto his first loss after a cradle buster. Before intermission was a
feature match between two of the top stars in the area, Jason Blade and “Die
Hard” Eddie Edwards, managed by Sean Gorman. Edwards scored the win over Blade
with a modified fisherman’s buster after nearly 20 minutes of intense back and
forth action. After intermission was the
8-man survival match between Team Nightmare’s “Human Nightmare” Evan Siks,
“Nightmare” Nick Steel, Frankie Vain, and “Lil” Nicky Amaral facing off
with “The Talent” TJ Richter, “Future Superstar” Ryan Matthews, and
“The Crown Jewels” (Darling Damon and Jason Rumble). Order of elimination:
After the match, the Crown
Jewels attacked Steel and began to double team him when Evan Siks ran back out
to save his partner. During the melee, Damon snuck from the ring and got his
atomizer of perfume, spraying Siks in the eyes with it. Siks had to be assisted
out of the ringside area, noticeably in some major pain. In a World Women’s
Wrestling feature match, In the main event, a triple threat for the NECW Triple Crown Championship, champion the “Mohawked Enforcer” Max Bauer defended against former champions “Big” Rick Fuller and DC Dillinger, with Sean Gorman. The hard-hitting contest was without its share of controversy. Dillinger looked to have the title won after hitting Bauer with a Yakuza kick to the face, but Fuller pulled NECW Senior Official Rich Bass from the ring before the fall could be counted. Bauer ends up retaining the title after some insurmountable odds as he hit Dillinger with his fireman’s carry drop for the win. A little more controversy in the match, as Gorman and Dillinger are claiming that Dillinger got his foot under the bottom rope during the pin fall, which should have resulted in the count being broken.
